Active Ingredients
This advanced retinal reconstructs skin overnight to reverse sun damage and reduce fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, and promotes an overall smoothness and evenness of facial skin tone. We go one step further by encapsulating our retinal to ensure the stability of the ingredient, so its potent power is protected until it meets your skin.
Plant-based antioxidant that offers similar collagen-boosting properties to retinoids but takes a different pathway. By combining bakuchiol and retinoids, we multiply the anti-wrinkle, skin firming effects.
A type of B3 that works your skin's natural chemistry to improve overall skin texture by rebuilding a lipid layer, minimising the appearance of pores, and preventing UV damage and inflammation.
Super hydrating natural emollient to lock moisture into your skin and relieve dry patches.
Two different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to supercharge hydration and give a dewy look on the surface of the skin, as well as hydrating deeper layers of the skin for lasting hydration throughout the day.
Hand-harvested off the Southern coast of the South Island of New Zealand. This sea algae is pumped full of antioxidants rich minerals from pristine streams that come up from the Antarctic, providing long-lasting hydration and skin brightening benefits.
A natural form of Vitamin A and essential fatty acids, especially omega-3 (linolenic acid) and omega-6 (linoleic acid) to soften skin and improve skin barrier function. Wild-harvested from Wanaka.
Packed with nutritious linoleic acid (omega 6), which helps maintain our skin’s natural barrier, and both hydrates and moisturises.

Sensory
This punchy, bright yellow elixir glides on with a silky pillowcase feel. Skin will feel luxuriously hydrated and plump.
The light scent is evocative of night-scented blooms that reveal scent and luminosity at dusk.
How to Use
After washing face at night, wait a few minutes until your skin is completely dry then apply over face and neck. When it feels like it’s all soaked in, follow with your favourite moisturiser. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
New to Retinoids?
Start out using it every third day for two weeks, then every other day for two weeks, gradually working your way up to nightly use. Retinoids work their magic by boosting skin cell turnover so consistency is key. Don’t exfoliate on the nights you use retinoids because it may cause irritation. Always always wear SPF during the day when on a retinoid programme.
Pro tip: Make sure to start with dry skin. While we encourage moisturising products to be used on damp skin to help the actives absorb better, this does not apply to retinoids - they are powerful enough on dry skin. Also, consistency is key - we start to see skin smoothing results after a few weeks but the real hallelujah moment is after about three to six months of use.
They’re all from the same retinoid family, but retinal has been clinically proven to work up to 11 times faster than retinol. Retinal also has a much higher exfoliation rate than retinol, which contributes unclogging pores, making skin smooth, soft, even-toned, freaking RAD-I-ANT.
It truly is a wonder ingredient, and the reason it is used less than retinol is:
a) It’s more expensive
b) In the past, it’s been hard to stabilize (meaning it loses its potency as it sits in the bottle on your windowsill). However, our Retinal is encapsulated (using amazing patent-pending technology) and releases slowly and gently into your skin overnight.
Vitamin A has DECADES worth of efficacy data showing real change in the skin – the single ingredient most dermatologists/aestheticians would recommend for reversing aging and sun damage.
Retinoids are proven to be safe is you start slowly. Our collagen stores start to rapidly break down from 30 onwards, so this is a good time to incorporate retinols that encourage cellular turnover to keep the skin firm. Undoing the damage to your skin in later decades is that much harder.
The Morning Dew Vitamin C serum is great for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
On the Moon Beam Retinal Elixir, in line with the American Academy of Dermatology, we advise that pregnant and breastfeeding people should avoid using all retinol-based products as a blanket rule. However, we would encourage breastfeeding women to speak to their dermatologist/ GP/ obstetrician if they are really keen to give it a try because most experts will tell you retinaldehyde (retinal) is safe when breastfeeding because a the amount that could enter the bloodstream is negligible. Retinoid use while breastfeeding is always a personal decision, as there have not been any studies done looking specifically at topical retinoid/retinol use during lactation.
We do everything we can to source materials that are both safe for the planet and safe for the person. We also ensure our ingredients are sustainably produced, have a low impact on the land, and are easily regenerated. For example, in marine algae harvesting, our suppliers follow Tikanga Māori - a strict, traditional harvesting practice of the indigenous people of New Zealand. By using this time proven approach, we harvest our ingredients without compromising our environmental and social responsibilities. This respectful approach means we can offer high potency natural bioactives whilst respecting the land and water that the ingredients came from.
